It is official... we are now operating solely as an animal rescue organization and have been since 2009. Limited time and internet usage prevent me from speaking about our endeavors and our pathway to them in depth at the moment, but rest assured the time will come. In my absence, my plea to you is simply to be a responsible pet owner and to consider those who weren't so fortunate as to find an appropriate home the first time. We can only do so much as a single organization but as a whole we can make a phenomenal difference in the lives of so many animals. I cannot *legally* advise you to take pity on the stray dog you see attempting to navigate the busy highway who looks lost, scared, sick, injured, etc. and to accept this sentient being into your care, but I can tell you that we do just that on a weekly basis at minimum. If this is not an undertaking that is possible for you, support someone, *anyone* (it does not have to be The Highway 64 Strays) who does.
